    Phoebe Galvez, LCSW – Therapist

Phoebe is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and is a graduate from the University of Utah. The majority of her experience as a social worker has come from working with survivors of violent crimes such as domestic violence and sexual violence. Specifically, she has focused on working with immigrants from the Latinx community, utilizing English and Spanish in therapy and advocacy. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and has experience treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms. She most recently received training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy which focuses on resolving trauma by allowing the wisdom of the body to aid in healing and adapting new capacities.

Phoebe identifies as a feminist multicultural therapist, which means she openly and collaboratively invites her clients to discuss internal and external identities, and how those identities intersect with the systems we are part of in society. In creating space for openness related to identity, it is her belief that honoring identities while rejecting oppression can be a healing component for many.

She has found that resiliency can be fostered through a strong therapeutic relationship, honesty and shared goals. Phoebe pursued being a social worker to help others. She continues doing this work because she sees clients who strengthen their ability to heal and care for themselves, and in turn share those healing gifts to others in their community, which she believes creates a healthier and more harmonious world. Additionally, she feels that key mentors in her career have aided and continue to support the process of self-awareness that helps her to embody mindful presence. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, ongoing learning, cuddling with her pets, and exercise.
